What is chemical peel?

Chemical peels are procedures to improve the appearance of our skin. It is a form of resurfacing procedure. During chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers (exfoliate). You may need to have more than 1 session to get desired results.
Chemical peels can be used to treat acne and acne scars, skin discolouration, fine wrinkles and for overall rejuvenation of skin. Your dermatologist will carry out a thorough evaluation to assess if you are suitable before you have a chemical peel.

Chemical peels can be classified according to the depth of peel into very superficial, superficial, medium and deep peels. Superficial to medium depth chemical peels are most commonly performed.
