Dermal Filler

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore volume, reduce lines and wrinkles, or enhance facial contours. As we age, some parts of our face may lose volume causing changes like sagging, loss of high cheekbones, prominent facial lines and other signs of aging. Restoring the volume with dermal filler injections can help reduce these changes.
Dermal fillers are commonly classified according to the substances they contain. Some examples of fillers include hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and calcium hydroxylapatite.

How long do dermal fillers last?

This depends on the type of dermal filler used. For example, hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary fillers that can last between 3-12 months.

What are biostimulators?

Collagen biostimulators are a form of injectables that enhances the formation of collagen in our skin. Unlike traditional fillers, the results are not immediate, and can take several weeks to months to achieve. Biostimulators not only help with the improvement of skin wrinkles, but also improve skin texture, elasticity, hydration and brightness.
Some examples of biostimulators include poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and calcium hydroxylapatite and highly concentrated hybrid non-crosslinked high and low molecular weight (MW) hyaluronic acid (HA).
Highly concentrated hybrid non-crosslinked high and low molecular weight (MW) HA is made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a hyaluronic acid injectable which has a prolonged stimulating activity on skin cells. It can be administered into the face, neck, decolletage and arms. When injected into the skin, this injectable increases skin hydration, texture, elasticity, counteracts skin laxity, improves and restores firmness of the skin.

What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are substances that are delivered to the dermal layer of our skin, aimed at slowing down skin ageing, reducing fine wrinkles and support skin hydration. Unlike traditional fillers, they do not volumize or augment. Some examples of skin boosters include non‐cross‐linked and low‐cross‐linked hyaluronic acid (HA), the combination of HA with the glycerol, polymers, polynucleotides, among others.
